Many times when people are not feeling well emotionally, they are unsure of what the problem is. However, unless they get themselves psychologically evaluated, there is absolutely no way of ever determining what is making you feel so badly; even after the evaluation you do not want to believe in the results! Except of course, knowing that you have a social anxiety disorder!

What more and more people are finding out about themselves is that they have a social anxiety disorder and depression, both at the same time. In fact, many people are now being diagnosed with having depression because of all the problems in their lives; which are on a day-to-day basis! In fact, there are more than 19 million people that are said to have a social anxiety disorder and depression in the world (if not singly then both at the same time).

After you find out what the specific problem is, whether you have some unfinished business or you have a social anxiety disorder and depression, the next step is to figure out where you want to go next. More importantly, you will want to figure out what you have to do next, to ensure that you get yourself both physically and mentally well! In fact, a person can not have a happy and healthy life if they are not mentally well and happy!

One of the best things to determine where you are going next or what the next step is, is if there will be anyone there to help you through the whole process; which in almost every case there is at least one person. Once you determine who that someone special is that is helping you through your problems with your social anxiety disorder and depression, you will be able to get the proper help you need! However, you will first have to determine if you want a professional doctor to help you or if you want to try "all-natural" techniques and medications.

Even though you have been diagnosed with having a social anxiety disorder and depression (which you already know you have/had the social anxiety disorder), there are both pros and cons to both treatments; medical or natural. In fact, one of the biggest reasons why many people choose to go the all-natural way is because of the whole cost issues and insurance companies. In most cases, all-natural techniques are half the cost of medical procedures! Another reason why many people choose to take all-natural medications over doctor prescribed medications is because the all-natural medications are non-habit forming; therefore, causing no troubles when you are "cured".

The biggest thing to deal with once you find out that you have a social anxiety disorder and depression is what type of treatment you want to go through. Once you determine that, you will be down the road of smooth sailing to getting well; then you can relax!!!

Social phobia, which is also referred to as social anxiety, is a disorder where an individual has extreme anxiety and self-consciousness about social situations. They have a constant and intense fear of being watched, judged and criticized by others for something they say or do. People with social phobia often have a fear so great that it may interfere with their everyday life at work, school or any social activity. Although most people with social phobia realize their fear is unwarranted, they are unable to change or stop the fear.

Social phobia may be involved around many things. Some people are afraid to eat or drink in front of others. Some are afraid to speak in front of others. In some more severe cases of social phobia, the person is afraid to even be around other people. In many cases of social phobia, physical symptoms will develop as well. Some of the physical symptoms include but are not limited to sweating, blushing, difficulty talking, trembling, palpitations and stomach discomfort. There entire problem of social phobia can be like a vicious cycle with the individual worrying so much about getting the symptoms that they increase their chances of developing the symptoms from the extra added stress. If they could only realize and deal with the many causes of social phobia.

There are many different causes of social phobia. Many times social phobia runs in the families with the children developing the same conditions as the parents. It is often associated with depression and/or alcohol dependence. Social phobia occurs in women twice as much as it does in men, for some reason. It may occur in childhood or the teen years, but seldom starts after the age of 25. There has been ongoing research to learn all the causes of social phobia.

Some research has pinpointed it down to a small structure in the brain called "amygdale" as being a culprit in causing the symptoms. The amygdale is the central part in the brain that controls our sense of fear. Other research has indicated that it's believed that social phobia may be inherited and passed down. One group of researchers has also determined that causes of social phobia may come for a high sensitivity to disapproval, which may be based on hormones or physiological reasons.

Yet another cause of social phobia may be the environment according to some research. By this they mean, a person may develop a phobia of a certain situation based on what they've seen happen to others in the same situation. This process is referred to as observational learning, meaning they "learn" how to behave based on what they observe of others.

If you are one of the millions of individuals suffering from social anxiety, Paxil may be the answer for you. Paxil has been successfully used in the treatment of social anxiety, premenstrual dysphoric disorder and depression. It's important that you realize that although these symptoms may sound like they are all in your head, they are very real and can affect your life drastically. Social anxiety and Paxil have been used together for quite awhile offering treatment to many, allowing them to begin to lead a normal life again.

If you are showing symptoms of social anxiety, Paxil may be able to help you get through these symptoms. Many of the physical symptoms of social anxiety are nervousness, palpitations, sweating, trembling, fear and nauseous. People that have social anxiety fear talking with others, meeting new people or being watched by others and fear that they are being thought of in a negative light. Although most doctors don't know the exact cause of the symptoms or the disorder, they have been linked with a chemical imbalance in the brain. In cases of social anxiety, Paxil will regulate the balance of the chemical Serotonin. Serotonin is a substance that works like a messenger between the brain's nerve cells.

For many patients with social anxiety, Paxil CR is the recommended medication. CR is short for controlled release, which is exactly what happens to the medicine. It is released into your body slowly in a way that can help them. Although there are certain side effects with Paxil, as with all drugs, the number that has side effects and has to stop taking the drug is very low. Many drugs that are helpful for specific disorders are discontinued before they have a chance to fully help the patient. For patients with social anxiety, Paxil can be safely taken without this occurring.

Social anxiety is the most common of all anxieties and because it affects many individuals, other treatment may be recommended. Many therapist prescribe cognitive-behavior therapy for social anxiety, Paxil and counseling, either individual or group.

.

Social phobia is another name for social anxiety disorder. Social phobia affects over 15 million Americans each year, making it the third largest psychological problem in the United States. As many people as there are affected by social phobia, it is still very misunderstood by mental health care professionals such as doctors, therapists and psychologists. Patients suffering from social phobia are misdiagnosed approximately 90% of the time. Often they are mistakenly labeled as manic-depressive, panic disordered, schizophrenic or clinically depressed.

Social phobia is not a disorder that is discussed a lot on television on in the media; so many sufferers don't realize just how common their problem is in the world. Rather, they feel there is something wrong with just them so they don't seek treatment. Without knowledge of social phobia and proper treatment, the condition can get worse over time. Another thing that makes social phobia so difficult is that it does not come and go as a symptom of some diseases, but it is with you every day of your life.

Some of the different circumstances that may bring on an attack of social phobia include being the center of attention; meeting new people, being watched or observed while you're doing something; looking someone in the eye, embarrassing easily, being criticized or teased. Most people that suffer from social phobia also experience physical symptoms like sweating, palpitating, blushing, dry throat and many more.

Cognitive-behavior therapy has been quite successful in the treatment for social phobia. Most people that suffer from social phobia realize that they have no valid reason to feel the way they do, but they still can't seem to help themselves. It is this acknowledgement of their condition with makes the therapy work better towards helping the patient recover and lead a normal life. Many health professionals will also prescribe medication such as antidepressants and anti-anxiety drugs, which are quite helpful when used with the cognitive-behavior therapy.

Many people think that social anxiety or social phobia is the same thing as a panic disorder, but they are quite different. Patients suffering from social phobia do not experience panic attacks. Most panic attacks come from the patience fear of having some disease or medical treatment. However, people with social phobia realize that they are experiencing fear and anxiety and they know what it is they are afraid of: being around other people. Unlike people with panic attacks, patients with social phobia do not go to the hospital when they suffer a attack.

Patients with social phobia often suffer from substance abuse, alcoholism, lack of personal relationships and inability to gain and keep employment. These are some of the reasons why it's so important to get treatment for your social phobia.

Many times when people see a therapist or a medical professional for help, they are not sure as to what will happen. However, when going to a doctor for the help of having a social anxiety, the first thing that will be done is to have a social anxiety disorder test. The purpose of having a social anxiety disorder test done is to be sure that there is actually a social anxiety to talk about, as well as seeing how bad it is.

When going through a social anxiety disorder test, the very first thing that people should realize is that lying or not being truthful will not do any good. In fact, the more you hide from the doctor, the less likely you are to get cured or on the way to being cured. Therefore, no matter what questions you are asked, be sure to tell the truth; completely. Despite of what many people think, taking a social anxiety disorder test is not really that bad; in fact, it will be done for the sole purpose of helping you!

Once you've gone through the social anxiety disorder test, you will then be able to start the process of getting well…or better. In fact, with the help of a professional you will be able to get back to life and not be afraid of anything. However, for most people that process will not be an easy one! In fact, many people feel as though they can not go through such a long course of action! For many people, because their social anxiety is so bad, they end up having to be in therapy for quite some time; possibly over a years worth!

If you are a person that does not believe in going to a doctor, there are also many things that are available, as well! In fact, many people have troubles choosing which way they want to go. However, a lot will be determined once the results of the social anxiety disorder test are back. One way that many people try to cure their problems is by using or taking an all-natural medication. For most people, they choose to take an herbal medication because of the fact that it is cheaper than regular prescriptions and also because they are non-habit forming; which is the best thing of all! Another way that many people try to help themselves from having further problems with a social anxiety disorder is by going to some socialization and relaxation classes. In fact, some of the best classes for relaxation are either yoga or meditation. When going to a yoga or meditation class, you will be teaching yourself how to take control of your body; not matter what situation you are in.

No matter what you do when you have a social anxiety disorder test taken, it is just as important what you do afterwards. In fact, the best thing to do is get immediate help with it; so that you can have a happy and healthy life!

Social anxiety is a disorder that affects thousands of individuals each year. It may not seem like a serious problem to those that don't have the problem, but it's a serious concern for those that do. Some people suffer from social anxiety and aren't aware of it, feeling that they're just shy and timid, unaware that social anxiety support is available.

Social anxiety is a disorder where people are afraid to be in public where they feel others are looking at them and disapproving or criticizing. Many people have difficulty speaking around others and suffer very real symptoms such as blushing, stammering, sweating, palpitations and shaking. Social anxiety often begins as a child. They are very shy as young children and without treatment or support, the problem gets worse as they get older. Adults that suffer from social anxiety often have a difficult time getting through their day-to-day routines. Social anxiety can affect a individual's personal relationships, their education and their employment. Many people that have social anxiety are so used to having this problem that they aren't aware that there is treatment and social anxiety support for them.

There are many qualified therapists and psychologists trained to deal with problems of social anxiety. One type of social anxiety support for social anxiety is a treatment plan consisting of cognitive-behavior therapy. Cognitive deals with the our brain and the thoughts we have. The purpose of cognitive-behavior therapy for social anxiety is to work with the thoughts that bring on anxiety and to change the behavior into positive thinking. In addition to the therapy, counseling is very helpful for sufferers of social anxiety. Some people are lucky enough to be outgoing, friendly and comfortable at all times. These people find it difficult to understand that social anxiety is much more than just shyness. Social anxiety is a serious disorder needs help in the form of treatment and social anxiety support. It is not a problem that will disappear on its own.

Social anxiety support can be quite helpful and the success rate is very high. Therapists and psychologists offer counseling on a one on one basis as often as they feel they need to see you. They work with the patient providing role-play as a means to help the patient see ways to avoid social anxiety. Another helpful method is a social anxiety support group where individuals suffering from social anxiety get together and discuss their lives and what types of situations bring on their anxiety as well as how they'd dealt with them. There is also social anxiety support in the form of hotlines where and individual can call a telephone number when they feel anxiety approaching. The person at the other end of the line will attempt to "walk them through" their problem. Most large cities offer both of these types of support groups for social anxiety. You may find these by looking in your yellow pages.

is an anxiety disorder where a person has a strong fear of many social situations. Also referred to as social phobia, social anxiety comes from the fear of being "on display" for others to watch, judge or criticize us. When a person has a social anxiety disorder, they are afraid they will say or do something wrong and be humiliated or embarrassed by those around us. Because of this fear, the person is in extreme distress when they have to be in social situations, or they try to avoid social situations altogether. In some severe cases, the person begins to dread the situation weeks or days before it even happens. This fear is known as "anticipator anxiety" and although the person may realize the fear in unreasonable, they cannot control themselves.

People that suffer from social anxiety disorder may be afraid of speaking in public or performing in front of others. Other situations may bring out anxiety such as working or writing in front of others, eating or drinking in front of others, being the center of attention, going parties or social gatherings with others, asking questions, speaking in groups and talking on the telephone. A person with social anxiety disorder may have just a few of those symptoms or all of them. Without proper therapy or treatment, social anxiety disorder can affect the person's normal daily life, whether it's school, work, social life or relationships with others.

Social anxiety disorder is a very common disorder with over 19 million Americans being affected. It is the most common anxiety disorder. The ratio of men and women that get social anxiety disorder is about even. Social anxiety disorder may show up in adolescence, in adulthood or even in childhood. A child that is beginning to suffer from social anxiety disorder may hide behind their parents or refuse to talk to others outside of their immediate family. There is not a very high rate of diagnosis for this disorder because even doctors sometimes have a difficult time determining between normal shyness and social anxiety disorder.

There is treatment for social anxiety disorder including therapy and treatment. However, many fail to seek treatment because of the very symptoms they possess causing the disorder: shyness, embarrassment or fear of speaking with others. Some of the physical symptoms that may arise are palpitations, sweating, nausea, anxiety, and confusion, blushing or shaking.

Different reasons may cause social anxiety disorder with one of them being genetics. Often children of parents with social anxiety disorder often develop the disorder themselves. The same is true of children that are pampered and over sheltered as young children. Another possible cause of social anxiety disorder is if something embarrassing happens at one time in our lives.

Many times when people are technically diagnosed with having a social anxiety, they are unsure as to where to go next. In fact, many people are not sure at all as to what can be done about having a social anxiety. However, despite of what many people think, there are in deed many different options for social anxiety treatments.

When choosing social anxiety treatments, you must first determine which type of treatment is best for you and your money situation. In fact, what many people do not think about when setting up certain social anxiety treatments is the cost; which can become very costly! When dealing with specific cost issues that is when it is important to know which type of social anxiety treatments you want to use.

For many people, the hardest thing to deal with when being diagnosed with having a social anxiety disorder is having to go public and find a medical professional that will help with the process of getting better. However, because there are so many different types of social anxiety treatments, it is less embarrassing for the people. In fact, some of the social anxiety treatments are treatments that you can do while only you know about them; no one else!

If you are one that does not care if other people know about your social anxiety or you just don't care what other people think, then the best solution for you is to see a medical professional; such as a therapist. In most cases a therapist will help the patients relatively quick and not waste a lot of time. Another thing that you may want to try doing is going to a yoga or self meditation class. In those classes, they teach you how to manage your self correctly and accordingly to each type of situation.

If you are one of those people that are private and like to keep their lives private, then choosing private social anxiety treatments would be the best thing for you. When it comes to doing things that are more private, there are also many different things that you can try. In fact, many people will even try to go on a supplemental or herbal medication for certain anxiety disorders. However, it also depends on which type of social anxiety they have as well.

Another thing that many people are using as a treatment and finding out that it helps them is chewing gum. Even though many people believe that chewing gum is pointless; it is not. In fact, many people are considering chewing gum as a great treatment; because it helps improve a person's focus and it also relieves stress.

If you are one that has to find a certain social anxiety treatment, it is best to figure out what is best for you before choosing one. In fact, you should not choose a treatment just because it sounds easy or cheap! In fact, it may help to speak with a professional before choosing a specific treatment!

As everyday passes, there are more and more children that are being diagnosed as having some sort of social phobia. In fact, each year the percentage keeps rising higher and higher as the treatments do not!

Many times when people have to deal with a social phobia in children, they are unsure as to what they can do and how they can help the children. In fact, many times parents are unaware that there is such a thing as a social phobia in children. Therefore, it is very important not only for the parents but for medical personnel to look for such symptoms of a social phobia. In children, it can be fairly easy to detect if there is some sort of phobia.

When it comes to a social phobia in children, there are many ways or things that a parent or guardian can do to help with the situation; without harming the child further. Many times people believe that if they leave the child alone, the social phobia with outgrow the child; however, that is the wrong thought to have; as it is incorrect! The best thing a person can do when a social phobia in children is apparent is to teach it the appropriate social skills he/she will need as well as showing them how to deal with specific social situations and using the appropriate social behavior. Besides teaching the children the social skills they need to learn, it is also great for them to be taught how to identify as well as change their anxious thoughts. Another very easy thing that an adult can do to help the social phobia in children is to teach the child to think more positive and to have more rational thoughts. In fact, those children that are able to control their thoughts are able to enter any social situations better than those that can't. Many parents will even have their children go through different types of therapy. One of the most successful types of therapy is to learn cognitive therapy techniques; which helps the children reduce the bad thoughts in their minds.

If you are a parent that can not afford a lot due to things you can not handle (such as a low income, no job, etc.), there are still some things that you can do! In fact, one of the best ways that you can help a child that has some sort of social phobia is to spend time with them! When spending time with them, you can gradually give them a situation that they can handle; a little at a time though! Another great thing that is relatively cheap is to play games with them. Some of the best games you can get are where they have to use their minds; such as Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Connect Four or Pictionary.

No matter what you do for your child, whether it costs a little or a lot, it will definitely be worth it; especially if you didn't do anything for them in the past!! A little bit always goes a long ways!!

Social anxiety affects millions of individual's each year. Social anxiety is the fear of speaking to other people, meeting new people or carrying on conversation and activities with new people. Some of the symptoms are sweating, blushing, extreme shyness, palpitating, fear and nervousness. Social anxiety can and does affect the daily lives of the individuals that suffer from this disorder. There are different kinds of therapy and treatment that may be recommended for social anxiety.

If you're one of the millions of people that suffer from social anxiety and are at your wit's end, you may want to consider Zoloft for social anxiety. You may already have heard of Zoloft for social anxiety, but don't know enough information on it to consider this.

Doctors have been prescribing Zoloft for social anxiety and depression for over 15 years. Zoloft is a prescription medication that is tolerated very well by most patients and is very effective in the treatment of social anxiety as well as depression. The fact that it is effective in treating depression may be one of the factors that make it also effective for social anxiety. Generally, patients that suffer from social anxiety also suffer from depression, usually brought on by the social anxiety. Zoloft is a very versatile drug that is also used to treat Obsession Compulsive Disorder, Premenstrual dysphoric disorder, panic disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder.

Zoloft is a prescription medication that helps to correct a chemical imbalance in the brain, which may be contributing to the social anxiety. This drug comes in many different doses so your doctor will discuss what the correct dose will be for you if you choose to try Zoloft for social anxiety. Although Zoloft is very effective for social anxiety, do not expect instant relief overnight. It may take a week or two or up to eight weeks before you notice improvement. Do not give up and stop taking the medication if you are not improved after a week or two.

As with all medications, if you choose to take Zoloft for social anxiety, you can expect some side effects. Some of the more common side effects from Zoloft are nausea, sexual side effects, dry mouth, sleepiness, diarrhea and insomnia. Not everyone gets these exact side effects and some may get none, while others seem to get many of them. Don't let the side effects deter you from taking the Zoloft for social anxiety unless you feel they are severe. In this case, you should always discuss this with your doctor, as he may just need to adjust the dosage.

Your doctor may want you to participate in therapy or other treatment in addition to taking Zoloft for social anxiety as opposed to just taking the drug alone.
